Week 1: AI Assessment & Planning
- Watch Video
- Session Guide: Assessment + Planning your AI Priorities
- Week 1 Mission:
- Go through the Session Guide: Do the Self Assessment first. Then try the fill-in Prompts. Explore your results to identify where you should focus your AI efforts for your business. Choose just one priority to focus on first.
- Make sure you have at least one main AI tool (ideally paid version) plus some backups (free versions are fine).
- Install your AI tools on your mobile device.
Week 2: Prompting
- Watch Video
- Session Guide: Getting Better Answers with AI
- BONUS: Quick Guide to Smart Prompting
- Week 2 Mission: Practice Improved Prompting – Choose 2 or more of the following to try before next week’s session. Refer to the Session Notes for more examples.
- 1. Improve ONE piece of your existing content: Pick something you already have—like an About page, flyer, email, or product description.
Prompt example: Here is my current About page. Can you rewrite it in a friendlier tone, under 150 words, like it’s coming from a local small business owner? - 2. Ask AI to interview you: Let AI help you uncover the right messaging.
Prompt example: I’m trying to write a short bio for my website. Ask me one question at a time to help me do that. - 3. Use an image or file: Upload an actual menu, flyer, or photo of your space—and ask AI for suggestions or text extraction.
Prompt example: Here’s a photo of my booth. Can you suggest one improvement to make it more eye-catching? - 4. Use AI to Read a Website (Yours or a Competitor’s): Test tone and format by asking for multiple takes. Choose one or both of these exercises to see how AI can help you analyze content and messaging:
Option A: Ask AI to Review Your Own Website
Prompt example: Please visit [your website link] and act like a world-class small business marketing consultant. Are you able to see the entire site? What are 3 quick suggestions to improve the homepage messaging or layout?
Option B: Ask AI to Analyze a Competitor’s Website: See what AI notices about others in your space.
Prompt example: Please review [competitor’s website link]. Summarize what this business offers and describe their unique selling proposition (USP). What do they seem to be doing well? - 5. Make a “combo prompt”
Upload a file or image and paste in your website link to guide the tone.
Prompt example:
“Here’s a photo of our new product. Please write a short description in the same style as our current product pages on [your website].”
