About Me:
Malinalli López Arreguín is an award-winning writer, entrepreneur and filmmaker who grew up in Sonoma County and has always been passionate about the arts, culture and media. She has a BA in Chicano Studies from the University of California at Berkeley and an MFA in Motion Pictures from the Academy of Art University. Malinalli launched her first marketing business when she was 24 years old and since then has become a powerhouse entrepreneur launching multiple businesses which incorporate her love of all things involving media and culture.
Her business XQL MEDIA which she launched in 2015 has produced commercials for television, documentaries and feature films. The most recent film produced by Malinalli, Hyena, has won over 20 awards worldwide in 2021 and 2022 on the independent film festival circuit.
She is also the founder of The Bronze Rose, a company that produces digital media products for small businesses. The Bronze Rose is dedicated to designing social media content and marketing campaigns with a social impact lens. In the past, she has taught media, film and Chicano/Latino classes at Sonoma State University for 7 years in the Chicano/Latino, Film and American Multicultural Studies Departments.
